Job Summary

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered100% (40 hours a week)Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC Obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) Cedar Rapids. This position will mainly support our Cedar Rapids OBGYN Clinic but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Specialty/Outreach Family Medicine and/or Pediatrics

Duties to include:

  • Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
  • Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
  • In less complex situations may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing more complex situations performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
  • Current valid drivers license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards

Schedule:Variable hours Monday through Friday between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM with 8-hour shifts.. Standard clinic hours are 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. No weekends on call time or holidays required.

Location:Cedar Rapids IA(or surround clinics based on clinical need or hours)

Pay Grade: 11

Salary: $44557.92 - $66377.52 (based on years of experience)

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support provider

Special Qualifications

  • Drivers License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
  • Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

Highly Desirable Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role.
  • Minimum 6 months 1 year of OBGYN experience.
  • Previous EPIC experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • OBGYN knowledge/ understanding of policies procedures.
  • Previous ambulatory experience.
  • Previous immunization experience.

Staff may be required to receive a passing score on work samples to be considered for this position
