Job Duties:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of communications-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures to promote communications in alignment with the strategic plan.
  • Develops communications campaigns programs and/or projects in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Directs and evaluates communications projects including the design production and delivery of internal and external publications.
  • Exercises supervisory authority including hiring transferring suspending promoting managing conduct and performance discharging assigning rewarding disciplining and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees.
  • May assist with developing and auditing the units communications budget.
  • May serve as a liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing communications information and representing the interests of the unit.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate UHS media relations efforts with leadership and key campus partners
  • Enforce brand standards across all creative projects promotional campaigns special events and initiatives by the division
  • Contribute content to high-level projects for the division including presentations donor communications press releases annual reports etc.
  • Manage annual division plans in collaboration with individual departments.
  • Assess marketing efforts for effectiveness and maintain current knowledge of behavioral and consumer trends to inform decision-making and goal-setting.

Department: University Health Services Marketing and Health Communications

University Health Services is seeking an innovative and creative leader for our Marketing & Communications team. This role will guide strategic planning and execution developing and implementing communications that advance division and unit goals.

Compensation:

The starting salary is $75000 annually and is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

  • Minimum five years of professional work experience in marketing communications journalism advertising or a related field.

  • Experience working in the public health sector and/or formal training in public health

  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

  • Superior communication (written and verbal) interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects tasks and deadlines

  • Desire to learn grow and create a culture of health and wellbeing at a Big Ten University

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Marketing Communications or related field

  • 2 years in a supervisory role of a diverse team

  • Previous work experience in higher education a plus

Education:

  • Bachelors degree
