Bookkeeper

Job Description

Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to provide maternity leave coverage from October 2025 to January 2027. This in-office role based in Bedford NS offers the flexibility of part-time or full-time hours and is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing full-cycle accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Manage weekly payroll including job costing T4s ROEs and tax table updates
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Reconcile inventory and general ledger accounts; prepare journal entries as required
• Complete month-end and year-end closings including annual payroll processes
• Prepare and submit statutory filings (source deductions HST WCB corporate tax remittances)
• Administer benefit filings across multiple plans
• Prepare year-end working papers and act as auditor liaison
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as directed

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Bachelor of Business or Commerce with an Accounting focus
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role accounting previous cost accounting experience is a definite asset
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook Excel Word Adobe)
• Experience with Sage 100 Contractor and SQL network environments considered assets
• Excellent organizational analytical and communication skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to work independently
• Ability to commit to the duration of the term
