Printpack is seeking qualified candidates for an Analytical Systems Manager. This position is located in Villa Rica GA and will report to the Director of Quality.

- Experience in manufacturing research quality and product development
- Recognized expert in a majority of related Disciplines and Technologies
- Sought externally by industry and customers for expertise in multiple areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously improves the culture of associates and food safety
- Effectively leads technical associates by communicating expectations and formulating strategies that contribute to their success
- Manage assigned budget and team operations
- Optimizes workflow through the department and among associates
- Steward and improver of company culture
- Reconciles or establishes priorities for the enterprise
- Manages consumables instrumentation and 3rd party relationships affecting operations
- Maintains deep relationships with Product Dev and Site Quality teams
- Communicate priorities and developments affecting associates workflow and goals
- Positions team to lead incident investigations and CAPA workstreams
Knowledge & Skills:
Analytical Disciplines:
- Physical (tensile tear gauge basis weight COF abrasion etc.)
- Barrier (OTR MVTR KIT testing Cobb etc.)
- Downstream (pouching and shelf life)
- Chromatography (GC-FID GC-MS LC-MS LC-RI)
- Spectroscopy (FTIR UV/Vis X-rite OD Opacity Haze X-ray)
- Microscopy (optical laser confocal infrared scanning electron)
- Thermal (TGA DSC DMA blocking)
Packaging Technologies:
- Polymer chemistries (polyester nylon olefins barrier resins tie resins adhesives inks coatings)
- Polymer additives (slip antioxidants antiblock antistat colorants etc.)
- Converting techniques (lamination extrusion coating printing slitting winding pouching)
Problem solving:
- Complex systems with multiple variables and contributing factors
- Limited contextual or background starting information
Outreach:
- Subject matter expertise on analytical methods instrumentation software and techniques
- Specify develop and recommend methods instrumentation software and techniques
