Program Summary
The Community Health and Wellness sector provides services that support the physical behavioral and emotional health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Our staff are certified Traditional Health Workers (such as Community Health Workers (CHW) Peer Support Specialists (PSS) and Doulas) who offer direct services such as healthcare and systems navigation health insurance enrollment physical and emotional health support adjustment support mental health resource navigation and client-directed case management. We also engage in community outreach and physical and emotional health education via community workshops psycho-education support groups and by hosting monthly health clinics that provide dental services health services and community resource information.


Position Summary
The New Arrivals Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and coordination of the New Arrivals programs including refugee resettlement and case management programs designed to support and welcome individuals who have recently arrived to the US via federal programs. This includes providing direct mentoring and support to a team of Case Managers who assist individuals and families experiencing various barriers in adjustment navigating systems and general life transitions.


The New Arrivals Program Coordinator will provide day-to-day supervision and mentoring of staff ensuring trauma-informed and client centered services reach community members. This position ensures staff have ongoing training and competence to provide referrals direct services and support to assist participants and provide accurate documentation of services as required.


This position works closely with the Community Health and Wellness Sector Manager the Community Health and Wellness Coordinators/Administrative team and members of IRCOs operations units such as Development Finance and HR. The New Arrivals Program Coordinator successfully coordinates implements reports and evaluates the programs in their portfolio as well as other projects as needed and assigned.


Essential Functions

  • Possess and apply an impeccable degree of confidentiality and utilize knowledge of laws about confidentiality disclosures and releases of information to ensure program and staff compliance.
  • With a fair degree of autonomy coordinate selecting the New Arrival program implementation develop workplans monitor expenses and create reporting schedules.
  • Supervise a team of Case Managers hold regular case conferences and utilize problem-solving skills and expertise to support and grow staff; provide staff with backup during absences or difficult client situations.
  • Implement a client-centered trauma-informed model to lead staff in assisting clients to self-sufficiency and attain stability.
  • Ensure confidential client records are recorded and maintained.
  • Ensure proper service delivery documentation and case notes are completed to contract standards.
  • Approve and process requests for client assistance or other contract spending; submit timely payment packets; work closely with IRCOs finance team on all financial matters.
  • Onboard staff; lead performance evaluations in alignment with agency practices; ensure consistent interpretation of IRCO policies and internal guidelines; make recommendations to Community Health & Wellness Sector Manager on hiring and disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Foster a supportive positive and accountable work environment.
  • Regularly review client files and service records ensure data entry case notes updates reports and all other administrative tasks are completed accurately within given timelines.
  • Assist with design and periodically update protocols and procedures with guidance from Community Health & Wellness Sector Manager and other teams.
  • Build relationships with other IRCO programs and external service providers to ensure participants have access to appropriate high-quality referrals.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings as requested with the goal of creating stronger connections for client services and advocating for client needs.
  • Coordinate or conduct ongoing training of staff relevant to the New Arrivals programs and their roles.
  • As requested prepare and conduct community partner or provider presentations on IRCOs New Arrival programs.
  • Ensure that all new programs align with our mission adhere to sector and division vision have achievable scopes and budgets and respond to community needs.
  • Perform other duties and lead other projects as assigned.
Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in international or Global Studies Human Services Political Science Social Work Public Health and/or other relevant fields of study preferred
  • Must have knowledge of and experience with ODHS Self-Sufficiency public benefits (OHP TANF SNAP TA-DVS ERDC).
  • Must understand Trauma-Informed Care and experience with reflective supervision.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of immigrant and refugee populations and challenges/dynamics community-aware approach and sensitivity.
  • Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with stakeholders colleagues and community members.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will supervise the New Arrival Case Managers and other direct service staff. May also supervise interns or volunteers.
