Part-Time lecturer for DF3011 Advanced Directing for Film
The School of Art Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University Singapore invites qualified candidates to apply for a Part-Time Lecturer for DF3011 Advanced Directing for Film. The Part-Time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate core course commencing in January 2026.
DF3011 Advanced Directing for Film is a 13-week advanced level course will extend students abilities as a director. Students will engage with advanced directorial processes and techniques as they take leadership in the production of a short film. This learning further establishes their skills as a director and will support such roles in further studies in film production.
Applicants to this position will be able to demonstrate expertise in overseeing the audio aspect of students projects related to digital filmmaking from initial concept screenwriting production and post-production to the final sound mix. Applicants will be able to demonstrate passion in guiding students in exploring the possibilities of audio for film in a variety of forms which may include traditional scripted filmmaking serialized content non-scripted content and short-format videos.
Successful candidates will have a relevant Masters and/or PhD in audio or related field with a track record of creative practice in film production. Past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelors degree in Film Production or related field and sufficient and relevant industry experience may also be considered in exceptional cases.
