Job Description

Position: AHOC RN (After Hours On-Call Registered Nurse)

Location: Richland WA

Type: Exempt

Anticipated Schedule: 3 - 4 shifts per week 4:30pm - 8:00am

Position Overview

The Hospice After Hours and On-Call Registered Nurse (AHOC RN) provides compassionate patient-centered care during non-business hours including evenings nights weekends and holidays. This role ensures continuity of care for hospice patients by responding to urgent medical needs managing symptoms providing support coordinating with the interdisciplinary team and ensuring the highest level of comfort for patients in their final stages of life. This role requires excellent clinical skills empathy flexibility and the ability to work independently


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Current and unrestricted Washington State license as Registered Nurse.

2. At least two years of post-education nursing experience preferably with one year in a hospice palliative care or oncology setting.

3. Ability to work independently make sound decisions and remain calm under pressure in urgent situations.

4. Must be available evenings nights weekends and holidays as part of the on-call nursing staff.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients families and the interdisciplinary team.

6. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Intermediate computer skills.

7. This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.

8. Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS)

9. Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health

10. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license as driving is an essential function of this role. Must meet insurance eligibility requirements.

11. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to independently drive within Tri-Cities Chaplaincys service areas to provide in-home patient and family services and support in clients homes facilities and community locations


Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in Hospice and Palliative Care.

Compensation

Hiring Range: $78371.90/annually - $116688.00/annually

Position Pay Range (or Salary Range): $78371.90/annually - $145947.36/annually

Hiring Range: The starting pay range offered to new hires depending on experience and qualifications.

Position Pay Range/Salary Range: The full pay range for this position from minimum to maximum based on role responsibilities and market rates.

At Tri-Cities Chaplaincy we carefully establish pay ranges for our positions by taking various factors into account including education certifications knowledge skills experience and market conditions. These ranges are tailored to match the diverse programs and services we offer. Our goal is to ensure fair compensation for candidates based on these factors while maintaining internal peer equity.

Mileage Reimbursement: $0.70 per mile for eligible positions.

Vacation: Accrual of hours each pay period based on hours worked.

Premium Pay: Bilingual in Spanish: Verified through ALTA staff testing and Approved Certifications: Premium pay upon review and approval.

Continuing Education Units: Tri-Cities chaplaincy utilizes Relias Learning and CAPC for employees to earn continuing education units for their credential requirements.

Certification and Training Opportunities: Employees can partner with their department director on professional goals that benefit the agency and themselves for certification and training opportunities.


AGENCY REQUIREMENTS

2. Community Outreach: Participate in education and outreach activities to promote agency programs including hospice care advanced planning and bereavement services.

3. Policy Compliance: Maintain knowledge of and comply with agency policies procedures and practices.

4. Confidentiality: Protect patient and agency information per HIPAA guidelines. Only access information on a need-to-know basis..

5. Health Requirements: Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization declinations or approved accommodations as applicable.

6. Screenings: Pass criminal background and drug screenings.

7. Physical Demands: Meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.(see attached physical requirements)

8. Training and Orientation: Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs.

9. Continuing Education: Complete ongoing education policy reviews and training be designated deadlines.

10. Licensure and Certification: Maintain current licensure(s) and certifications(s) required for the role.

11. Language Proficiency: Read write speak and understand English fluently.

12. Work Availability: Be available to work as assigned or scheduled.
