Job Title: Physician Assistant Family Medicine
Location: Winn Army Community Hospital 1061 Harmon Ave Fort Stewart GA 31314
Tentative Start Date: November 1 2025
No. of FTEs Required: 2
Work Schedule:
Inpatient: 12-hour inpatient shifts including days nights weekends and federal holidays.
Outpatient: 7:30 AM 4:30 PM (excluding federal holidays) with a 60-minute uncompensated lunch break.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an academic program from a Physician Assistant program accredited by (ARC-PA) and possess and maintain certifications through (NCCPA)
Experience:
At least one year of recent clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in Family Medicine Internal Medicine or Hospitalist settings.
Demonstrated ability to manage acute and chronic conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team and handling high patient volumes.
License/Certification
Must possess and maintain a current valid unrestricted Physician Assistant license in one of the 50 U.S. states D.C. or U.S. territories (no limitations or pending adverse actions).
National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (must be American Heart Association or American Red Cross; online-only courses are not accepted).
DEA registration number required.
Other Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive primary care in both inpatient and outpatient Family Medicine settings at Winn Army Community Hospital.
Conduct patient examinations diagnoses and treatments for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
Deliver preventive health services and patient/family education on wellness disease management and healthy lifestyle practices.
Perform hospitalist duties as part of rotating inpatient shifts ensuring continuity of care for admitted patients.
Document all encounters in compliance with DoD medical records standards and hospital policies.
Collaborate closely with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe effective and coordinated patient care.
Maintain compliance with DHA and hospital credentialing training HIPAA and infection control requirements.
Provide emergency/mission essential services during crisis situations supporting the hospitals operational readiness.
