Job Title: Physician Assistant Family Medicine

Work Schedule:

Inpatient: 12-hour inpatient shifts including days nights weekends and federal holidays.

Outpatient: 7:30 AM 4:30 PM (excluding federal holidays) with a 60-minute uncompensated lunch break.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate from an academic program from a Physician Assistant program accredited by (ARC-PA) and possess and maintain certifications through (NCCPA)

• Experience:

• At least one year of recent clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in Family Medicine Internal Medicine or Hospitalist settings.

• Demonstrated ability to manage acute and chronic conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

• Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team and handling high patient volumes.

• License/Certification

  • Must possess and maintain a current valid unrestricted Physician Assistant license in one of the 50 U.S. states D.C. or U.S. territories (no limitations or pending adverse actions).

  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (must be American Heart Association or American Red Cross; online-only courses are not accepted).

  • DEA registration number required.

• Other Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive primary care in both inpatient and outpatient Family Medicine settings at Winn Army Community Hospital.

• Conduct patient examinations diagnoses and treatments for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.

• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.

• Deliver preventive health services and patient/family education on wellness disease management and healthy lifestyle practices.

• Perform hospitalist duties as part of rotating inpatient shifts ensuring continuity of care for admitted patients.

• Document all encounters in compliance with DoD medical records standards and hospital policies.

• Collaborate closely with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe effective and coordinated patient care.

• Maintain compliance with DHA and hospital credentialing training HIPAA and infection control requirements.

• Provide emergency/mission essential services during crisis situations supporting the hospitals operational readiness.
