Responsibilities

Our busy Urgent Care Clinic in Altoona IA is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiologic Technologist to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging exams while also assisting with general clinical tasks to support overall patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic X-rays in accordance with provider orders and safety protocols

  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures with attention to comfort and safety

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system

  • Ensure proper function cleanliness and safety of radiology equipment

  • Support urgent care clinical team with additional duties such as:

    • Taking vital signs

    • Rooming patients

    • Assisting with procedures or specimen collection as needed

  • Follow all HIPAA OSHA and radiation safety guidelines

  • Maintain radiologic technologist licensure and certifications

  • Communicate effectively with patients providers and team members to ensure seamless care

Qualifications

  • Current ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required)

  • Iowa Permit to Practice Radiography (required)

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)

  • Prior experience in urgent care outpatient or emergency setting preferred

  • Strong patient service and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to assist in general clinical and administrative tasks when not performing X-rays
