Job Summary
STVs San Antonio TX locationis seeking aWater/Wastewater Engineering Specialistfor our Water Practice Group. Youll provide the ability to contribute immediately to Water and Wastewater (W/WW) project development and execution of varying sizes as part of a growing office.
As an Engineering Specialist youll actively participate in the full project cycle from the design phase through the final construction this position you will perform design engineering tasks to support the Project Team in the execution and delivery of water and wastewater facility and linear projects.
In this position youll work under the supervision of the Oklahoma Water Group Manager. Familiarity with and/or the ability and desire to use production tools such as modeling software and computer equipment are a plus.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production of contract documents including plans specifications and opinions of probable construction costs (OPCCs).
- Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
- Perform pump calculations and develop system curves for sizing pumps.
- Prepare construction and design cost estimates.
- Perform engineering duties in planning and designing water and wastewater pipelines pumping storage and treatment systems.
- Perform engineering duties in the planning and design of water and wastewater facility projects to include pump stations lift stations and treatment plants.
- Responsible for or willingness to learn project management client interface and business development of future projects.
- Make site visits during design and construction to observe the construction installation.
- Review construction shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents.
Heres What Youll Need:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
- Experience working with local municipalities and utility companies.
- Successful completion of the FE Exam to earn your EIT Certification.
- Ability to work and communicate well will other design disciplines.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience withWater/Wastewater treatment and pumping facilities design is preferred.
- Familiarity with production tools or modeling and design software is a plus.
Compensation Range:
