Assistant Director

Interested in joining our team of dedicated professionals Way Finders is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Director. The Assistant Director furthers our mission by managing assigned staff and program(s) and providing full-range oversight that supports households in avoiding eviction and/or foreclosure. The Assistant Director is responsible for proper case processing payment processing achieving exceptional customer service and compliance plus acts as a full-range backup to the Director.

Wage starts between $64000 and $75000 per year depending on equivalent qualifications. Interested applicants must submit a resume and cover letter; applications will be accepted until the position is filled. CORI.

The candidate will work fully onsite.

Responsibilities include:
Oversee all facets of assigned program(s) in collaboration with Director including case processing payment processing achieving exceptional customer service and compliance ensuring work is completed in a timely fashion and to the highest standards; provide full-range oversight in Directors absence
Provide support through technical guidance training and assistance on program guidelines processes and resource availability
Ensure the successful delivery of eviction prevention supports including ongoing referrals and positive collaborative relationships with legal services mediation centers tenancy preservation programs and Housing Court to problem-solve issues in an efficient and timely manner
Oversee the assessment and reviewing of daily data supporting managers and following up with staff on processing targets workflow requirements and overall accountability on reaching assigned targets goals and metrics
Direct and monitor the production of timely and accurate reporting of program requirements and productivity levels to ensure compliance with contractual obligations funding source(s) and the organizations requirements for effective decision making
Work collaboratively with internal and external service providers to ensure comprehensive and seamless service delivery
Remain knowledgeable of all program regulations sharing with staff in a clear and timely manner to ensure overall compliance and to meet contractual obligations
Ensure all standards procedures and protocols are implemented as defined
Attend and support Director and Managers in regularly scheduled 1:1 and team meetings
Represent the organization at local state and national provider/funder meetings as assigned
Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal staff and departments owners landlords community groups funding sources and other stakeholders
Proactively identify and inform management/leadership of any issues that may adversely affect the department or organization

Supervisory responsibilities include:
Ensure new employees are trained in accordance with training plans for new staff members and that existing employees are provided with refreshers and receive retraining when there are performance concerns; evaluate and make process improvements based on feedback
Evaluate and provide timely feedback to staff on performance-related matters; assess staff members strengths and developmental needs; implement performance plans to ensure the development and/or maintenance of necessary skills
Hire new/replacement staff in an efficient manner following recruiting process guidelines
Provide proper support and mentoring to supervisory-level employees to ensure they manage their team effectively through training communication/feedback group and 1:1 meetings timely evaluations performance plans as necessary and efficient and thoughtful hiring
Those directly and indirectly supervised will include program managers and their staff and temporary workers

Requirements include:
5 years experience in housing/social services or a related field; a combination of similar experience plus a Bachelors degree may be a substitute
3 years mid-level supervisory experience
Proficient in Microsoft applications (including Excel and Teams) and comfort learning new technologies
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written including in training and mentoring others
Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines
Ability to occasionally travel during the workday
Bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and written skills preferred
