What is the role on offer
Working under limited direction the role of Software Engineer will design develop support and implement IT solutions with a particular focus on our Core System and SATACs Online Application this role youll collaborate closely with the Engineering Lead to deliver solutions that align with approved standards while maximising the value and performance of SATACs platforms.
What youll be working on:
Designing programming and implementing our IT systems using modern development frameworks.
Developing application programming interfaces (APIs) and front-end applications based on architectural standards and patterns.
Maintaining and enhancing existing full-stack systems to ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
Ensuring software development is aligned with approved software development policies roadmaps architecture and occurs in a collaborative manner.
Maintain and support the data integration platforms between SATAC institutions and other stakeholders.
Developing technical specifications and documentation applying quality assurance practices to ensure the successful delivery of online applications.
Contributing to a software development lifecycle that balances agility with a considered risk profile.
Supporting Service Delivery in the investigation assessment implementation and enhancement of service levels.

Youre a collaborative problem-solver with a passion for building quality software that makes a real impact. Combining strong technical expertise with a willingness to learn share knowledge and adapt to evolving business needs you bring a proactive solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated strong proficiency in Java and TypeScript with hands-on experience in building scalable full-stack applications using modern frameworks and a solid understanding of reactive programming principles.
Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end test automation using Playwright with a focus on reliability maintainability.
Demonstrated experience in CI/CD practices including pipeline design automated testing and deployment using industry-standard tools.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure particularly PaaS services with the ability to design and deploy cloud-native applications.
Familiarity working in a mono repo environment supporting efficient collaboration dependency management and streamlined development workflows.
Familiarity with additional programming languages is beneficial. Certifications or extensive hands-on experience in multiple languages are considered a strong asset.
Teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
Formal qualifications or a combination of relevant experience and/or education and training relevant to the position will also be expected.
