Physician - Urgent Care (MD, DO)

Position Summary:

The Codman Square Health Center is seeking physicians to work in the Health Centers Urgent Care Department. The Health Center serves a diverse community and offers an array of services including primary care urgent care behavioral health care management nutrition family planning optometry dentistry laboratory radiology pharmacy and medical specialty services including HIV care Substance Use care Hepatitis C treatment OB-GYN Nephrology Cardiology and an STI clinic. The Urgent Care Department provides a highly collaborative team atmosphere with a strong nursing team and with integrated behavioral health social service nutrition and family planning services to collaborate with and support the urgent care providers. The Health Center is a teaching institution and opportunities for resident medical student and NP/PA student teaching are available as well as academic appointments at Boston University/Boston Medical Center. The Health Center has a close partnership with Boston Medical Center and is a member of the Boston Accountable Care Organization.

Urgent Care Providers are integral in achieving this vision by providing high quality coordinated team based clinical care to health center patients and new patients to the health center or the community and linking patients to primary care and hospital based addition the provider is important to sustaining the health center through providing billable visits. The Urgent Care Provider is a participant in health center improvement work and supports practice transformation including transformation into a Patient Centered Medical Home.

Qualifications:

• Current Massachusetts Medical License
• Board Eligibility/Certification in primary care specialty
• Current DEA and Massachusetts Control Substance License
• Experience using Epic EHR preferred
• Haitian Creole French or Spanish language skills preferred
