Job Description
Position Title: Cloud Security Engineer
Reports Directly To: Sr Cloud Infrastructure Manager
Location: Remote/ Hybrid
Hours Per Week: Full Time
Risk Designation: High
Job Summary CRISP Shared Services (CSS) serves as the technology partner for health information exchange (HIE) affiliates in Maryland DC West Virginia Connecticut Alaska Virginia and other jurisdictions. CSS facilitates the electronic transfer of clinical information between disparate information systems in order to positively impact the healthcare system through improved patient care and outcomes reduced costs and data-driven understanding of regional public health concerns. CSS is seeking an Azure Engineer with a Security Focus to join our Cloud Infrastructure team. This position requires that the candidate has a high-level understanding of Azure its resources and implementing security controls surrounding these resources. A cross functional position that works for the Infrastructure Team that works closely with and takes direction from the Security and Compliance team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Security Configuration: Configure and manage security settings in Microsoft Azure Office and Entra
Web Application Firewall (WAF) Management: Configure monitor and maintain WAF to protect web applications from common threats and vulnerabilities
Implement security measures to resolve vulnerabilities mitigate risks and recommend security changes to system or system components as needed
Collaborate closely with the security team to design and implement security policies and procedures
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations policies and procedures
Lead projects and/or project steps and be accountable for achieving the objects related to IT security projects
Assist with evaluation of computer applications software or specialized cybersecurity programs to ensure software assurance best practices are followed
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. In depth knowledge of Azure best security practices
Maintain system-level view of the overall security environment and identify configuration drifts in software/hardware and overall system design
Experience in writing Sentinel playbooks and procedures for incident responses
Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell/Python and automation tools
Azure Administration: Hands-on experience with Azure administration
Threat Protection: Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and other threat protection tools
Experience and/or Education Requirements
Proven experience as an Azure Administrator or Engineer with a focus on security
Strong understanding of Azure security features and best practices
Experience with security monitoring tools and incident response
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Certifications Preferred. (such as SSCP CISSP Azure Security)
Familiarity with AWS is a plus
At least 5 years of experience in Information Technology Engineering
