IMEG is growing and wed love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking an Electrical Designer 1. As an Electrical Designer 1 you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering analysis design and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. This position will be expected to work within the projects monetary budget as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
Principal Responsibilities
Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs specifications and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
Interact with clients to understand their needs gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Assist in project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives
Assist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress
Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions. Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards industry standards and client requirements
Stay up to date with industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in electrical engineering. Contribute to research development and innovation efforts within IMEG
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including other engineers architects and project managers to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
Required Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of design techniques tools and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory electromagnetism power systems and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI Elum Tools Visual Lighting or similar; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; familiarity with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu; and proficiency in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and CTC Revit Add-In Tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
Education and Experience
Associates degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
3 years of experience minimum required 4 preferred in the building design consulting or construction industry

State of California Salary Range $70000.00-$85000.00. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
