Job Summary and Responsibilities

At Dignity Health St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center we deliver humankindness through a wide range of health social and support services in the heart of Phoenix Arizona. The Medical / Surgical / Trauma ICU DEPARTMENT at Dignity Health St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center is a dynamic environment where you can pursue a highly challenging and rewarding career. We are committed to the highest level of patient satisfaction. Serving the critical care adult population each dedicated unit consists of 32-beds and offers an exciting challenging opportunity for nurses to care for the very highest acuity patients in a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse to patient ratio. All units report to one Nurse Manager; nurses are hired specifically for each unit yet have an opportunity to cross train.

  • 24/7 Operational hours.
  • ACS Accredited Level 1 Trauma Center.

  • Medical Surgical Trauma ICU.
  • Certified to perform Kidney Transplants.

Position Summary:

Assess patient/family health problems and resources taking a leadership role in the development implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care.

  • Provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations.
  • Position requires providing service to one or more age groups including young adults through geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
  • Position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the organization.
  • It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.
  • The employee will support the organizations strategic plan and the goals and direction of the hospital wide performance improvement plan.

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State.
  • One year recent acute care experience.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic Computer Skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
