Description
**Must have experience as a Medical Assistant Certified Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician.
Summary:
This position will improve the quality of care. This position will support two endocrine physicians at 4 Medical Assistant will assist with returning patient calls and assist with obtaining pre authorization for with patient flow in the office to allow shorter wait times during visit.
Responsibilities:
- Greets and escorts patients back from waiting room to clinical areas.
- Performs all necessary intake activities and documents appropriate information including vital signs etc.
- Assists patients into gowns having clinical paperwork any needed supplies and educational materials immediately available for the clinician use.
- Updates patient information in the patient record. Transposes medication history social and medical history as reported by the patient from the intake forms.
- Monitors ERx and Clinical pools. Works on medication authorization.
- Assists with coordination of further patient care and follow-up and carry out tasks as directed by Nurse and/or physician/practice administrator. This may include communication with patient hospital labs imaging centers pharmacies physician offices insurance plans.
- Monitors inventory and orders medical supplies as needed as well as follow up on all outstanding orders.
- Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Foundational Values (Personal Imaginative Agile Connected).
- Demonstrates regular reliable and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
