Job Description

Location: Bristol or Swindon (Hybrid 3 days in office)

Our Client is a Top 200 Law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Revenue Coordinator to join its Finance department. This key position supports the Working Capital team focusing on revenue optimisation through efficient billing and proactive WIP (Work in Progress) management. The role is client-facing and requires excellent interpersonal skills to liaise confidently with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will play a central role in managing revenue processes supporting billing operations and contributing to financial insight and reporting. This is a commercially focused position that requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to prepare and maintain regular billing cycles and schedules.

  • Monitor and manage Work in Progress (WIP) ensuring visibility over recovery expectations billing status and payment methods.

  • Support with updates to client pricing and billing structures when there are changes in project scope.

  • Ensure that suspended time is processed and posted promptly to the correct ledgers.

  • Partner with legal teams to close matters that have remained inactive or without recorded WIP for extended periods.

  • Review and manage non-billable WIP on a monthly basis initiating write-offs where appropriate.

  • Work with the Working Capital Manager to generate billing and lock-up reports as well as other ad hoc financial insights.

  • Assist with bi-annual WIP valuation processes alongside fee earners.

  • Help drive improvements in the speed and efficiency of revenue recognition and cash collection processes.

  • Identify potential financial risks or process inefficiencies early escalating issues that may affect liquidity or profitability.

What Youll Bring:

  • Prior experience in a finance-related role within a professional services environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with individuals at all levels across the organisation.

  • A commercially aware mindset with a focus on practical solution-driven outcomes.

  • Working knowledge of key financial processes including:

    • Work in Progress (WIP) management

    • Basic understanding of VAT and Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)

    • Financial metrics and performance indicators

  • Confidence in using financial systems and general IT tools.

  • Strong organisational skills attention to detail and an ability to prioritise competing tasks.

  • A high standard of professionalism and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
