You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Iowa State University Research Farms (ISRF) is seeking applicants for an Agricultural Specialist II to support research and crop production at the Central Iowa Research Farms near Ames Iowa. The ISU Research Farms consist of 12 staffed locations statewide that conduct site-specific agricultural research and demonstrations.
This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of innovative agricultural research that supports Iowa farmers and the broader agricultural community. Unlike typical farming or co-op roles every day brings new challengeswhether its assisting with research trials working with precision ag technology or contributing to market development studies. The work is varied hands-on and rewarding blending traditional farming knowledge with cutting-edge agricultural research. Key focus areas include bulk crop production small-plot research management and soybean seed production and conditioning.
Key Responsibilities include:
Assisting with agronomic research and demonstration activities.
Operating and maintaining equipment for tillage planting spraying irrigation harvest and hauling.
Supporting bulk corn and soybean production on 2000 acres.
Assisting with soybean seed production including planting harvest storage conditioning and packaging.
Recording field operations and research data using JD Operations software and Microsoft Teams.
Performing equipment facility and land maintenance including fabrication and repair work.
Collaborating with ISU faculty staff and students on field trials and demonstrations.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Level Guidelines
Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
