Operating Room Circulating Registered Nurse Travel Position
Location: Wausau WI
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 5x8s
Pay: $2572/week
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Circulating Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Wausau WI. The Circulating Nurse will be responsible for patient care and safety before during and after surgical procedures ensuring sterile technique and supporting the surgical team throughout operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented adaptable and experienced in a variety of surgical specialties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients prior to surgery and verify documentation consent forms and safety checklists.
- Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments equipment and supplies.
- Circulate during surgical procedures monitoring patient status and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
- Maintain a sterile environment adhering to infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Document nursing care patient status and intraoperative events accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and surgical technologists to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide post-operative support ensuring safe transfer and continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin (or compact license).
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room circulating experience.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred).
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
- Strong organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different surgical specialties and a fast-paced OR environment.
