Job DescriptionBest Buy is seeking a strategic and experienced Director Corporate Finance Treasury to lead key initiatives that support the companys financial health and long-term growth. This role will partner closely with corporate leadership to identify educate and guide executives on impactful corporate finance strategies. The Director will lead a team responsible for delivering exceptional treasury management services while helping shape the strategic direction of the broader Treasury function. Success in this role requires strong analytical research and communication skills along with the ability to solve complex business and financial challenges. The Director will work cross-functionally with several partners across the enterprise and will be empowered to drive continuous improvement and transformation. Additionally this role will manage key commercial relationships with banking partners rating agencies treasury technology providers and other financial institutions.
This role is remote eligible which means you would work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.
What youll do- Lead treasury-related initiatives projects and personnel. Oversee liquidity management risk management and capital markets. Manage external financial partners including banks bond counsel financial advisors and investment bankers.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Treasurer and cross-functional leaders to shape and implement corporate finance strategies. Support investment management risk mitigation capital planning and integration efforts tied to M&A and ERP deployments.
- Communicate complex banking and treasury related ideas to all levels of the organization. Create presentations and recommendations to executives and FIPC on corporate finance related initiatives.
- Oversee assessment and hedging of financial risks (e.g. currency interest rate commodity). Ensure adherence to internal controls policies and regulatory requirements. Partner with Internal Audit on treasury-related audits.
- Lead treasury systems infrastructure and modernization efforts. Drive process simplification automation and data accessibility. Manage relationships with key technology vendors.
- Promote treasury literacy across the organization. Develop and empower team members through education career planning and inclusive leadership. Foster a culture of growth and efficient decision-making.
Basic qualifications- 7 years of experience in finance accounting banking or related subject
- 3 years of management or leadership experience with people and/or budget responsibilities
- Advanced ability to establish negotiate and manage vendor relationships
Preferred qualifications- 10 years of experience in finance accounting banking or related subject
- 5 years of treasury experience specifically within treasury or in a strong cross-functional support capacity
- MBA or masters degree with concentration in Finance Accounting Economics or CFA
- Experience with managing external business relationships
- Executive presence and demonstrated success presenting to senior management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Expert interpersonal skills and ability to develop constructive and collaborative relationships
- Strong sense of initiativeself-starter who can work independently to perform key job functions just as well as a leader of a high-functioning team
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically build consensus advocate anticipate problems and solutions and work with business partners
- High level of objectivity and integrity
