Hours: Permanent Full-time UFCW position
What youll be doing:
- Using approved methods and as assigned by Director (or delegate); Support Maintenance efforts by completing assigned and demand work requests mostly related to Carpentry Shop
- Duties mainly involve: minor repairs hang relocate remove various fixtures signs artwork etc. installation and repair of various building components i.e. ceiling tiles doors and door hardware floor trim
- Operation of float cart
- Equipment repair (furnishings fixtures)
- Demolition waste removal
- Patching drywall taping and finishing fire stopping
- Painting & furniture refinishing
- Assist with office and other departmental moves (furnishing fixtures etc.)
- Assisting trades staff with more complex work orders and projects
- Support snow removal efforts & linen distribution efforts
What were looking for:
- 5 years experience skills and ability in building construction and or maintenance painting plaster & drywall repairs & refinishing installation of wall fixtures servicing of door hardware minor plumbing
- Competent in the safe and effective use of most hand and power tools
- Awareness of special safety requirements while working in patients areas including review of ES safety manual and WHMIS program
- Understanding of WHMIS controlled products
