E-Logic is seeking a skilled Mainframe Computer Operators to ensure uninterrupted operations at GPOs mainframe data center located in Washington DC. Our operators will play a critical role in managing high-speed printing operations monitoring scheduled jobs and assisting Production Control staff to keep vital government publishing processes running smoothly.
As a Mainframe Computer Operator you will:
- Operate high-speed laser printers impact printers and bursters within the GPO mainframe data center.
- Load and maintain printer supplies (paper toner developer) and organize completed print jobs for timely customer distribution.
- Remove and stage completed reports for end-users and maintain a clean organized printer area.
- Support Production Control staff by submitting scheduling and tracking jobs using JCL within TSO.
- Monitor and report printer supply levels; unload boxes of paper and forms as needed.
- Coordinate with the baling room when recycle bins are full.
- Adhere to operational schedules to ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Perform duties under the guidance of the Production Control Lead and Data Center Manager.
- (For Lead Operators) Provide leadership and guidance to fellow operators on shift.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a computer operator in a mainframe or data center environment preferred.
- Familiarity with JCL and TSO job scheduling/monitoring is a plus.
- Ability to operate high-speed printers and related equipment.
- Strong attention to detail organization and time management skills.
- Ability to lift boxes of paper and supplies as needed.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Work Schedule:
- Shift 1: 7:00am - 3:30pm
- Shift 2: 3:00pm - 11:30pm
- (Two operators per shift four operators total.)
