As a Manager Model Validation youwill establish maintain and lead the global framework for managing model risk ensuring robust governance independent validation and regulatory compliance across for a Global Bank. The role encompasses oversight of all material models including credit risk (IRB) financial reporting (IFRS 9) market and counterparty risk and advanced analytics such as AI and machine learning. We are seeking somebody tohelp bring model validation and model governance within DLL to a higher level. The team will be looking for your strategic guidance and vision on the validation and model risk management of all models in DLL model inventory. Day to day:
Lead a global high performing team of model validation and model risk management professionalsincluding mentoring coaching and supporting member development activities.Drive a culture of independence challenge and technical excellence across the model risk function.
Develop and implement a comprehensive Model Risk Management Framework aligned with global regulatory standards and the banks risk appetite.
Responsible for development and maintenance of DLL model validation and model risk management policies standards methodologies procedures and for development and implementation of the Model Risk Policy.
Oversee the execution of independent model validation activities and periodic review of all IRB Provisioning Machine Learning AI and Compliance models in the DLL model inventory. Ensure validation covers conceptual soundness data integrity performance monitoring and ongoing governance.
Credit Risk: IRB (PD LGD EAD) stress testing.
IFRS 9 Models: ECL models staging criteria macroeconomic overlays.
AI/ML Models: credit scoring fraud detection ensuring explainability and fairness.
Responsible for monitoring the model risk acceptance and breach management including definition of Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) metrics for model risk proposing risk appetite thresholds and monitoring of progress including quarterly model risk reporting to senior management.
Maintain an accurate and complete model inventory and establish lifecycle management controls.Responsible for maintenance of the Model Inventory and yearly signoff on accuracy and completeness of the Model Inventory.
Work closely with stakeholders across domains to deliver innovative thought leadership on DLLs management of emerging AI capabilities.
Vice-chair and voting member of the DLL Model Risk Committee (MRC) and responsible for the MRC process governance.
Represent DLL in the Rabobank MRM MT and related discussions.
Partnering with and effective management of a wide rangeof internal (model developers model users model owners internal audit) and external (Rabobank supervisory authorities) stakeholders to ensure models meet regulatory requirements.

Essentials:
Masters or PhD in Econometrics Actuarial Science Statistics Mathematics Data Science or other quantitative disciplines.
At least 8 years of experience in model validation or model developmentand at least 3 years of experience in leading multi-disciplinary multi-cultural and international teams.
Proven ability to manage complex multidimensional teams in fast-paced environment.
In-depth understanding and knowledge of regulatory framework and standards for credit risk (CRD IV/CRR ECB/EBA guidelines) AI and Machine Learning models.
Exceptional communication writing and reporting skills in English and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in executing quantitative analyses using statistical programs such as Python/R standard database query language such as SQL and using cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure/Databricks is a plus.
Experience with on-site inspections and communication with regulatory authorities (DNB/ECB) is a plus.
