Purchasing Officer(Purchasing and Support Services Section) ()
The Purchasing Officer supports the purchasing section by managing procurement activities negotiating with suppliers and ensuring the timely acquisition of necessary goods and services. This position plays a key role in maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings;
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable agreements;
- Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods;
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier information;
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs;
- Assist in preparing a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) package including tender documents;
- Ensure all procurement transactions fully comply with the established regulations and procedures;
- Assist in the resolution of any issues related to procurement; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in Procurement Supply Chain or Business Administration related field;
- 5 years or above of experience in purchasing or procurement;
- Strong negotiation and communication skills;
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational abilities;
- Adapt to changing priorities and challenges with a positive attitude;
- Foster a respectful and cooperative team environment;
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese;
- Experience with Oracle financial system is an advantage;
- Student member / member of CIPs or a professional accounting body would have an advantage.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite; and
Shortlistedcandidateswillbe invited to complete a written test.
Salarywillbecommensuratewithqualificationsandexperience.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract for two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
