Position Title: Student Counselor (Part-Time)

Available: October 2025

We are currently seeking for a part-time StudentCounsellor at our Toronto Campus location. Reporting to the ManagerStudent Life the successful applicant will provide short-term counsellingservices to CCNM students experiencing personal social and educationalconcerns affecting their personal and academic life as needed. This positionwill provide services primarily to students at the Toronto campus.

In addition to providing counselling services theStudent Counsellor will also contribute to program development and delivery ofCCNMs student mental health promotion strategy (Thrive Program).

The hours for this position are:

  • Onsite - Monday and Wednesday: 9:30 AM 5:30 PM
  • Virtual - Friday: 10:00 AM 6:00 PM

This schedule may change based on operationalneeds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in Social Work Psychotherapy clinical Psychology or Counselling
  • Current registration as a Social WorkerPsychotherapist or Clinical Psychologist
  • Eligibility to practice in Ontario isrequired.
  • Eligibility to practice in BritishColumbia and other provinces is considered an asset.
  • Three to five years of demonstrated counsellingexperience in a clinical setting
  • Strong generalist counselling skills and ability to workwithin a time-limited practice model
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills todeliver counselling and crisis intervention services for students includingrisk-assessment crisis management complex case management outreach andreferrals
  • Well-developed knowledge of the principles ofcounselling and the processes that lead to change and personal development
  • Knowledge of community resources to providereferrals to students who require further assistance
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including demonstrableunderstanding of professional boundaries roles and responsibilities andstrong collaboration and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organization time management andproject management skills to coordinate the programs required to supportstudent mental health
  • Tact discretion andability to exercise professional judgment in a highly confidential environment
