Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full Time Day Shift
Compensation: $36.86 - $36.86 /hourly

Tessera is seeking a reliable safety-focused Electrician to support facility operations at USAFA. This role is responsible for inspecting repairing installing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment across a range of commercial and industrial environments. The Electrician ensures all work is performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) Colorado state licensing standards and Department of Defense (DoD) safety protocols. This position requires technical expertise attention to detail and the ability to work in a secure mission-critical setting.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Inspect test and troubleshoot electrical systems including lighting motors generators and intercoms
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on lighting fixtures outlets switches and circuit protection devices
- Execute minor electrical installations and upgrades in compliance with NEC standards and safety protocols
- Plan and lay out electrical work using blueprints schematics and technical manuals
- Operate lift equipment and perform tasks at heights in confined spaces and under adverse weather conditions
- Maintain accurate records of inspections repairs and material usage
- Demonstrate professionalism and comply with PPE requirements and safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum 35 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical systems
- Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician License in good standing
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams blueprints and NEC standards
- Familiarity with motors generators lighting systems and control panels
- Experience working on federal or military installations preferred
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
- May be required to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion reaching lifting kneeling and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
- A valid state drivers license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tesseras insurance.
