Construction and Technical Services is responsible for a significant portion of in-house construction and repairs services needed within 55 DCAS-managed court and non-court buildings which total 15 million square feet of space.
The DCAS Trade Shops perform small-scale renovations such as partitions/drywall work rough and finish carpentry interior/exterior painting electrical and plumbing repairs structural steel concrete and masonry work and manufacture in-house replacement of parts for obsolete equipment and locksmith services and Mayoral Ceremonies and Special Events.
The Electricians Shop (whole staff including supervisors and helpers) cover oversq. ft. per electrical tradesperson. We are seeking to hire a Supervisor Electrician whose duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Assign and supervise the installations repairs and maintenance of high and/or low-tension electrical systems for light heat power and communication in or on buildings.
- May serve as a special electrician preparing applications and reports; and obtaining permits and approvals for electrical work to be performed as may be required by rule regulation and/or statute.
- Assign and supervise the installations repairs replacements and maintenance of electric wiring systems and components equipment and apparatus in or on buildings or structures in accordance with the provisions of the New York City electrical Code pertinent plans and specifications or jobs orders.
- Assign and or conduct tests on existing installations to determine faults and makes necessary repairs.

SUPERVISOR ELECTRICIAN - 91769
Qualifications :
1. Six years of full-time satisfactory experience as an electrician acquired within the last fifteen years at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or
2. At least four years of experience as described in 1 above plus sufficient satisfactory experience as an electricians helper or apprentice electrician or training in the electrical field acquired in an approved trade technical or vocational high school to make up the equivalent of the remaining experience. Six months of acceptable experience will be credited for each year of such helper experience apprentice training or training in the electrical field. However all candidates must have had at least one year of full-time satisfactory experience as a supervising electrician acquired within the last fifteen years.
License Requirements
A Motor Vehicle Driver license valid in the State of New York.
All licenses must be maintained for the duration of employment.
