TITLE: HR ASSISTANT/BENEFITS COORDINATORIMMEDIATE SUPERSOR: HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTORCONTROLLING SUPPERVISOR: CHAIRSTATUS: REGULAR/FULL TIMELOCATION: KAW CITY OKSALARY RANGE: $15.00 - $18.00QUALIFICATIONS:An associated Degree in Management Business or related field and 1 year Employment Verification experience in Human Resources or a high school diploma/GED and Vocational training or trade school with a minimum of three (3) years experience in Human Resources. Knowledge of Human Resource concepts and employment laws is preferred. Experience may be subsisted for educational requirements. Must possess a valid driver license and be insurable.RESPONSIBILITIES:- Assist the Human Resource Director with the day-to-day operations of the department.
- Responsible for establishing organizing and maintaining files and documentation for the department.
- Process payroll for the Tribal Administration and Gaming Commission employees.
- Ensure employees accrued annual leave accruement is maintained properly.
- Assist in completing reports as required.
- Insure strict confidentiality of all personnel records.
- Complete timesheets for payroll processing ensuring all coordinating paperwork is submitted to payroll timely.
- Process all incoming/outgoing mail including mail records as needed.
- Serve as liaison between Kaw Nation and insurance benefit providers.
- Audit monthly employee insurance billing statements.
- Process insurance enrollment for eligible employees.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment processes.
- Ensure compliance with Kaw Nation employee policies and Federal employment laws including but not limited to COBRA HIPPA and FMLA.
- Assist HRD in performing background screening and new employee orientation and in-house training sessions.
- Assist with any Workers Comp claims.
- Ensure all reports are filled out and processed with new hires or resignation names.
- Work with Emergency Manager on the Employee Emergency List.
- Other duties as assigned by HRD Executive Director or Tribal Chair.
