Job Summary

Under general supervision the Senior Energy and Utilities Analyst provides advanced functional expertise and leadership for highly complex or critical programs with campus-wide and system wide impact. Facilities Development and Operations (FD&O) Energy Utilities & Sustainability unit supports a portfolio of 167 acres 85 buildings and over six million gross square feet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key technical advisor to executives and management; influence strategic objectives and methods
  • Lead and implement complex high-impact projects and business solutions across campus and with external entities
  • Analyze interpret integrate and present complex data for long-term planning policy and operational decisions
  • Drive business innovation and process improvements; develop new strategic approaches and solutions
  • Establish and maintain high-level contacts within the university and with agencies and outside entities
  • Utilize information systems for analysis research reporting and recordkeeping; prepare briefings and standard reports
  • Provide functional leadership; may oversee day-to-day operations and offer lead work direction

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of the theories principles methods and practices relevant to energy/utilities/sustainability program work including applicable policies procedures laws and regulations
  • Strong research and analytical skills; ability to integrate complex data and anticipate impacts across organizational areas
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and influence high-level contacts inside and outside the CSU system
  • Excellent project management consensus-building persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to take initiative; plan organize coordinate and complete assignments amid multiple competing demands
  • Commitment to professional respectful constituent service and to operationalizing sustainability concepts in daily work

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree and/or equivalent training
  • Six (6) years of administrative work experience involving study analysis and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies procedures practices or programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or economics. Certified Energy Manager
  • 1-2 years experience with maintenance and incremental improvement of large scale excel models using time series data energy unit conversions and coefficient of performance calculations
  • 2-5 years experience with maintenance and restructuring large scale excel models using annual time series data energy unit conversions and coefficient of performance calculations.

Compensation

Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt III
Anticipated Hiring Range: $8500/month - $11109/month
CSU Salary Range: $6970/month - $13544/month
