Project Manager Karlstad

Do you want to lead exciting industrial projects that shape the future of the process industry
At COWI in Karlstad you will work at the heart of Swedens pulp and paper industry together with colleagues who are passionate about technology innovation and the green transition. We are now looking for an experienced Project Manager with a background in piping design or process industry projects someone who wants to take the lead in creating sustainable solutions for our clients.

This is a role where you get to combine leadership and technical expertise work close to customers and influence projects from the very first idea to delivery.

COME AND WORK WITH US

Our Karlstad office is part of COWIs building and industry department. Here pipe designers structural engineers process engineers and electrical engineers collaborate to plan and deliver facilities for some of Swedens most important industries.

Our largest customers are in pulp and paper forestry petrochemicals/refineries and energy plants. With our knowledge we support clients in achieving modern industry standards and in staying competitive in a rapidly changing market. Most often our projects involve a total commitment from feasibility studies and preliminary design through detailed design and procurement to construction management inspection and commissioning. We work with both start-up companies and large international customers.

YOUR ROLE

As Project Manager you will be the driving force in industrial projects where several technical disciplines work together. You will have a central role in coordinating the project team building strong client relationships and ensuring that projects are delivered according to plan on time within budget and with high quality.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
  • Acting as the link between client project members and stakeholders
  • Planning time resources and finances
  • Following up on quality safety and project results
  • Managing project risks and identifying opportunities for improvement

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a person who enjoys responsibility thrives in a collaborative environment and can turn complex challenges into successful projects.

To succeed in the role you should have:

  • A university degree in engineering (e.g. mechanical chemical or another relevant technical field)
  • At least 5 years of experience from process industry projects preferably pulp and paper forestry energy or water facilities
  • A background in piping design process engineering or another relevant technical area
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients
  • Fluency in English (Swedish is meritorious but not a requirement)
  • Experience from contracting or international projects
  • Project management training or certification (e.g. PMI IPMA Prince2)
