Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Intern to join our team for the summer. The intern will support the Maritime Supply Chain department in various activities rotating through the major functional areas over the course of two consecutive summers. Those functional areas include purchasing supplier management subcontracts and supply chain program management. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field who is eager to gain real-world experience in Supply Chain.

- Remote work options are not available for this role and all work must be conducted in-person at one of the job locations listed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the procurement/subcontract process including sourcing and evaluating suppliers obtaining quotes and preparing purchase orders.
- Support the management of supplier relationships including communication performance evaluation and issue resolution.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends.
- Help maintain accurate procurement/subcontract records and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services and to drive supply chain best practices and efficiencies.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to procurement activities.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance procurement/subcontract efficiency and effectiveness.
- Standardizing and modernizing RFP templates and subcontract document packages for consistency and compliance.
- Participate in internal meetings supplier discussions and government compliance reviews as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supply chain teams.
Required Qualificiations:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Public Policy / Government Contracts or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interest in government procurement federal acquisition or defense supply chain management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- U.S. citizenship required
- Relevant coursework or experience in:
- Government Contracting or Federal Acquisition (FAR/DFARS)
- Cost/Price Analysis or Managerial Accounting
- Business Law or Contract Law
- Excel VBA or Power BI (a plus)
- Proficieny with Microsoft Excel i.e pivot tables formulas basic data modeling.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Costpoint is a plus
- Familiarity with Sharepoint
- Collaborative self-starting and eager to learn in a fast-paced regulated environment
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in California Massachusetts New Jersey Washington and the Greater D.C Denver or NYC areas is $20.50 - $41.00. The salary range for this role in Colorado state Hawaii Illinois Maryland Minnesota New York state and Vermont is $18.00 - $36.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
