Network Security/Firewall Lead
FedTec is seeking Network Security/Firewall Lead to oversee the end-to-end planning design and execution of the firewall migration initiative. This lead role will serve as the technical authority and primary point of accountability for ensuring a secure seamless and standards-compliant transition from legacy configurations to new Palo Alto 7050 firewall pairs across the states primary and secondary data centers.
Location : Jefferson City MO(Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze the current firewall implementation in both primary and secondary data centers.
- Organize and rebuild firewall rules based on established naming and building standards.
- Identify and clean up unused or redundant firewall rules objects networks security zones and interfaces.
- Build new firewall configurations on new Palo Alto firewall pairs using industry and vendor best practices.
- Plan and execute the migration of live network traffic to new firewall appliances (specifically Palo Alto 7050s) with minimal disruption.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues arising during and after the migration. Implement necessary mitigations.
- Configure and deploy a large number of remote firewalls (Palo Alto 440s) for DVR security systems and Local Public Health Agency (LPHA) networks.
- Provide weekly status reports using the states template and use the Project Deliverable Acceptance Form (PDAF) for all deliverable signoffs.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4 years of experience managing & building Palo Alto next generation firewalls.
- 8 years of experience in network engineering.
- Experience with architecting and configuring firewall network connections.
- Experience with setting up VSYS.
- Experience setting up VPN.
- Experience with Palo Alto NGFW in decryption of network traffic network traffic inspection content filtering policy and policy clean-up.
- 1 years of experience creating naming and building standards is preferred.
- 1 years of experience State of Missouri is preferred.
