Description

PURPOSE: To properly pick stage and load customer orders for timely delivery and to receive raw materials used in manufacturing process and communicate progress of shipping and receiving.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Filling capping and labeling sample containers.
Pick and package sample orders and/or ground shipments for shipment via Parcel Service or Truck Line.
Ship packages through the Parcel Service Computer Systems
Print on-demand labels for samples and certain products
Prepare international shipments
Operate and maintain forklift
Maintain finished goods inventory in proper bin locations
Pick customer orders using pick tickets
Load customer orders per Bill of Lading on trailers
Offload in-coming materials from trucks
Performing cycle counts
Work in other work centers associated with production as needed
Offload in-coming materials from trucks as needed
Perform other duties as assigned if qualified to meet business demands.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must be proficient in the operation of forklift.
Must know to configure a throw pallet.
Must know of all bin locations.
Knowledgeable of DOT hazardous materials regulations
Knowledge of how much product/weight can fit in a trailer.
Must be able to operate dock plates.
Understand proper block/ brace procedures.
Must be self-motivated and able to keep up with production demands.
Must be able to communicate effectively and interact well with a variety of personalities within a production environment.
Must be flexible and willing to help others when requested.
Must be able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Due to the nature of our business the ability to understand read and write English fluently is required for safety reasons.
Must be able to interact well with a variety of personalities within a production/manufacturing environment.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Must display initiative and independent judgment.
Use of the following equipment:
- Forklift
- Pallet jack
- Floor scales
- Miscellaneous hand tools

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORKING CONDITION & ENVIRONMENT

This position requires exposure to various chemicals in a production environment. Exposure to dust vapors gases chemicals is probable and personal protective equipment is required.

Plant is not an air conditioned environment but is equipped with adequate air flow handling equipment and ventilation system. Plant is heated during the winter months.

EDUCATION - CERTIFICATION

High school diploma or its equivalent. Forklift certification.
