Position Summary:
An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and self-starting Project Manager to join the Water and Wastewater Practice in Melbourne FL. This role involves leading and contributing to a diverse portfolio of municipal water and wastewater engineering projects from conceptual planning and permitting to final design bidding and construction.
Core Water Engineering Services Include:
Raw water supply systems (surface water intakes well development)
Water treatment plant design and upgrades
Water storage tanks and reservoirs
Pump stations and distribution systems
Wastewater Engineering Expertise Includes:
Wastewater treatment plant planning and design
Sanitary sewer system evaluations and rehabilitation
Lift station and pump station design
Process piping and mechanical system layouts
As a Project Manager you will lead multidisciplinary teams manage key client relationships and contribute to the strategic growth of the firm s water and wastewater practice in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Develop project scopes budgets and contracts for water/wastewater projects
Ensure delivery of projects on time within scope and within budget
Oversee and coordinate tasks for internal teams and subconsultants
Lead project kickoff and progress meetings
Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance
Supervise construction administration and field personnel
Ensure timely invoicing and follow-up on payments
Technical Execution:
Apply engineering knowledge to complete technical tasks in water and wastewater treatment collection/distribution systems and pump station design
Serve as Engineer of Record for major deliverables
Provide technical consultation directly to clients and stakeholders
Business Development:
Identify new project opportunities within the water/wastewater sector
Assist with proposals cost estimating and client interviews
Build and maintain strong client relationships within municipal and utility sectors
Promote additional firm services and actively participate in industry organizations (e.g. WEF AWWA APWA)
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master s preferred)
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months
10 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering including project and team management
Demonstrated success in managing full-cycle design and construction projects
Strong client relationship management and communication skills
In-depth knowledge of planning permitting and regulatory frameworks in the water/wastewater space
