The University of Chicagos Department of Surgery Section of Cardiac Surgery seeks Clinical Associates at 100% effort for renewable terms of up to three years. Clinical responsibilities include independent call inpatient rounding on LVAD patients and supporting all Cardiac Surgery programs at the Hyde Park campus and affiliated offsite community practices and partner include CT Transplant Procurement and ECMO. These positions donot require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications. The University of Chicago Heart & Vascular Center has nationally recognized research and education programs that build on collaborations throughout the University and is active in clinical operations and quality improvement in the Medical Center.
Prior to the start of employment qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana 3) be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or equivalent and 4) have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship and/or equivalent training in cardiovascular/thoracic (CVT) surgery.
