RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Qubec - Sant (FRQS).
Position summary
Under the supervision of the Manager of Technical Platforms at the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM) the incumbent will support the launch and operation of the new ophthalmology platform. This hybrid role combines administrative coordination with hands-on ophthalmic imaging and for research projects.
General Duties
Schedule patient (child and adults) appointments and manage the ophthalmology platform calendar
Manage the service request via Agilent iLab
Develop and maintain a fee schedule for ophthalmic services
Assist in the completion of imaging for research purposes including OCT fundus photography fluorescein angiography corneal topography and specular microscopy
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging data
Coordinate with referring physicians and research teams
Respond to inquiries and manage correspondence (email phone)
Assist in the procurement and maintenance of ophthalmic equipment and supplies
Ensure compliance with clinical and research protocols
Support data entry and reporting for billing and research purposes
Participate in team meetings and contribute to platform development
Performs other office duties as assigned.

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Ophthalmic Medical Technology or equivalent training in ophthalmology imaging and diagnostics
Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a clinical or research ophthalmology setting preferred
Exhibits strong interpersonal organization skills and administrative skills
Ability to take initiative and work under pressure
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Autonomous flexible sense of ethics and good judgment
Ability to pay attention to detail
Ability to generate and maintain accurate records
Proficiency in OCT fundus photography angiography and other imaging modalities
Bilingual (French and English) written and verbal communication
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Familiarity with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Status : Temporary Part-Time
Pay Scale: $24.40 to $45.29/hour Commensurate with education & work experience.
Work Shift: Variable Schedule
1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday occasional evenings and weekends
