Mental Health Nurse
Salary:
40 Hours per week
Passionate about making a real difference in mental health care This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to our clients acute mental health hospital. The service is looking for someone with at least two years of post-qualification experience who thrives in fast-paced environments and is confident supporting individuals during periods of crisis.
In this full-time role (40 hours per week with a rotation of day and night shifts) youll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe high-quality and person-centred care to people experiencing acute mental health conditions. Youll benefit from continuous training and professional development plus a supportive workplace where your skills and commitment will truly be valued.
What Were Looking For
- Mental Health Nursing qualification and a valid UK NMC Pin
- At least 2 years post-qualification experience working in a mental health hospital or similar acute psychiatric setting
- Solid clinical skills: assessments care planning medication management safeguarding procedures
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights with resilience and adaptability
- A caring patient and reflective approach; excellent observational skills and attention to detail

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing acute mental health disorders ensuring their safety dignity and wellbeing
- Carry out clinical assessments risk assessments and care planning in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses side effects and progress
- Deliver therapeutic interventions and daily nursing duties adapting to the changing needs of patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with legal professional and trust guidelines
- Support patients during crises de-escalate when required and ensure safeguarding practice is followed
- Participate in shift handovers (day and night) ensuring continuity of care and effective communication
- Contribute to ongoing training supervision and reflective practice to uphold standards of care
