Purpose TheManager Global Compliance & AML Strategic Supportcontributes to the successful execution of Global Compliance & AML strategic initiatives. This dynamic role drives insightful analyses craftsimpactful executive presentations and is essential to drive strategic alignment across the program. The incumbent is aguardian of excellence ensuring that every action aligns with the highest standards of regulations and internal policies all while pushing the boundaries of whats possible. |
Key Accountabilities
- Serves as a key resourcein the creation and upkeep ofhigh-impact presentations. These are designed for Senior-level Executive audiences to drive decisive action on strategic recommendations and to ensure strict adherence to established policies and processes at the enterprise level.
- Aids the Global Compliance & AML leadership team and other cross-functional teams toorchestrate strategic initiativesand ensure meticulous execution as required. (e.g. Global Compliance resource planning strategy development)
- Coordinates Compliance & AML materials for the Audit & Conduct Review Committee and Board meetings including preparation and facilitation of Chief Compliance Officer review and final submission to Corporate Secretary partners.
- Manages the overall quarterly budget reviews in coordination with Finance partners to ensure strategic alignment with the Banks financial goals.
- Supports coordination of Compliance & AML participation in HR-led programs (e.g. Activate Velocity) working with HR partners and internal leaders to identify rotation/reporting managers mentors and team placements to enable employee development and talent planning.
- Supports the facilitation of large-scale team events tostrengthen team cohesionanduphold company culture.
- Supports the development of strategic agendas for senior management business travel.
- Continuously seeks methods toenhance process efficiencythrough automation and standardization.
- Comprehends and integrates the Banks risk appetite and risk culture intodaily activities and decision-making processes.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks Values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational compliance AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
Education/Experience - University degree in Business is desirable
- 3 years of experience in strategic roles in banking/financial services
- Experience supporting senior management an asset
- Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills with the perspective of continually seeking opportunities for improvement
- Expert-level Excel and PowerPoint
- A keen eye for presentation design and the ability to distill complex concepts and analyses into clear easy-to-understand presentations
- Thrives in a fast-paced challenging and dynamic business environment
- Able to manage multiple activities to meet aggressive deadlines
- Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset
