BUILDING MAINTENANCE AND FACILITIES SUPERVISOR - Start Date 11/17/202512 Month UnaffiliatedSALARY RANGE: $85000-$95000 (commensurate with experience)ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSDirectly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations. Collaborates with and assists the Supervisor of Custodial :Under the direction and general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations the Building Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor provides technical and maintenance project management support in connection with school site improvements modification of facilities and new construction projects. The Building Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor assists in the preparation and review of building maintenance plans and specifications coordinates inspects projects and prepares all documentation required for the successful completion of projects. Oversees the Maintenance Staff and provides direction to prioritize in-house projects. Is the point person for communication with outside vendors and the City doing maintenance and or repairs within the :Minimum five years of work experience in performing custodial work in industrial or commercial organizations or other relevant at least five years of supervising or providing lead direction for other of a valid and appropriate Massachusetts Drivers to communicate effectivelyAbility to use work order and project management computer systemsUnderstand interpret and apply building codes laws rules and regulations governing school facility construction and DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review plan estimate and schedule work assignments on school site improvements modifications of in the development of formal project specifications for bid or quote purposes and review bid specifications to assure their thoroughness and accuracy in relation to approved and interpret construction documents blueprints plans and specificationsConfer with prospective contractors and solicit formal and informal bids/quotes; solicit and review payment requests and approved payments for work and submit payment approvals for projects to ensure the timely payment of work completed according to established policies and and assure the timely and appropriate development of project site visits and pre-bid pre-construction walkthroughs and/or conferences and attends job meetings as reports maintain project records and ensure compliance with current standards codes and and maintain communication and cooperative working relationships with site Administrators and other District periodic field visits and provide progress reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including architects consultants contractors and school all local state and federal regulations regarding municipla building facilities are to work flexible hours including on-call shifts to support District needs and ensure continuous operationsPerform other related duties as CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Indoor and outdoor MPS-issued vehicle to conduct exposure to fumes dust and heat and cold or adverse weather stand and walk for extended periods; stoop kneel and crouch to pick up or move objectsability to perform physical labor for sustained periods of time;physical ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 poundsPlease apply on our website under employment opportunities:
