Overview
We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role combines technical expertise with fieldwork responsibilities focusing on managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure across multiple locations. < Highlight more travel here > The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a variety of technologies including Active Directory Azure Entra ID Azure DevOps Microsoft SQL Cisco switching Fortinet Firewalling VMware vSphere Nutanix AHV Hyper-V PowerShell and C#. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless operations across our network of facilities both in our headquarters and various production locations nationwide. Additionally we emphasize the importance of not being siloed and encourage our team members to broaden their skills and work in multiple technology areas. We also offer a hybrid work schedule providing flexibility to work both remotely and on-site as needed

Responsibilities
- Customer Interaction:
- Server OS: Windows Server and some Linux
- Active Directory: Manage user accounts groups and permissions while ensuring the directory service operates efficiently.
- Cisco Switching: Troubleshoot network switches to maintain reliable communication across our network.
- Fortinet Firewalling: Secure our infrastructure by inspecting firewalls and monitoring traffic.
- VMware vSphere & Nutanix AHV: Administer virtualization platforms to manage workloads and ensure high availability.
- Microsoft Hyper-V: Maintain and troubleshoot virtual machines ensuring seamless operations within our environment.
- PowerShell & C#: Develop scripts and tools to automate tasks and enhance system efficiency.
- VoIP Phone: General understanding of SIP.
This role may require occasional travel to various offices and production locations across the United States. Hampton Lumber prioritizes employee safety and well-being with comprehensive travel protocols in place.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or four years relevant experience.
- Proven experience with Active Directory Switching Firewalling Virtualization PowerShell and C#.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve system issues promptly.
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices for service management.
- Certifications such as MCSE CCNA or VMware VCP are highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Experience with cloud migrations and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting beyond PowerShell and C#.
- Certifications in Microsoft VMware Cisco or Fortinet solutions.
