Job Summary

  • Oversee the Translation Services Language Line delivery of services to district staff and parents. Leads the transcreation of content to mirror the English across multiple platforms: district website Facebook and social media campaigns and other collateral for district-wide initiatives.
  • Supervise and coordinate delivery of service for the Translation Services Language
  • Line with an annual volume of more than 10000 calls from teachers and other district staff. The Language Line is a conference call system that facilitates the communication between school and parents with limited English skills. Languages available including Spanish Arabic Burmese Chin Kirundi and Swahili.
  • Compile data from a wide variety of sources for the purpose of developing and tracking key performance indicators and other benchmarks of success in order to provide information to assist the team with assessing impact of the Language Line.
  • Transcreate and adapt messages for external and internal campaigns.
  • Support the development of internal and external marketing campaigns.
  • Support the development and execution of district-wide events.
  • Lead the Spanish translation of the districts website FB and other social media to stay up-to-date relevant and informative.
  • Collaborate with the Communication Services team and other district departments to coordinate marketing efforts to effectively promote district initiatives in English and
  • Spanish for schools and community.
  • Collaborate with various departments and schools to assist with the translation of academic related documents and other documents as needed.
  • Contribute to and collaborate in special projects.
  • Must assist Board and community meetings in the evenings and occasionally on weekends.

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an administrative coordinator or specialist.
  • Prior experience translating/interpreting in a school district environment
  • Exceptional copy editing and proofreading skills in English and Spanish
  • Must have the ability to transcreate and adapt the districts key messages to effectively communicate with diverse communities.
  • Must have experience with content writing for traditional and non-traditional platforms.
  • Ability to develop and conduct district training modules for department services.
  • Organizational communication supervision and interpersonal skills are required to able to work multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and present information effectively with all levels of district personnel community organizations government officials agencies students parents and general public.
  • Extensive knowledge of districts operations policies goals and objectives is preferred.
