EBOYZ Innovative Learning Center is a visionary innovative educational program that focuses on the arts through teaching and learning. We believe in the power of the arts to transform lives by building students capacity in their individual areas of strength cultivating personal growth and character development. We are passionate about providing students with a creative engaging and well-rounded learning experience centered on the fine arts. Our after-school fine arts program is an extension of our commitment to inspiring young minds through music dance drama and visual arts. We emphasize creating opportunities that empower students continued success which will positively impact their community.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Director
PAY GRADE: $21.00 per hour
HOURS: 3:00pm 5:30pm
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Responsible for guiding students in acting improvisation and stagecraft the Theater Arts Instructor will lead students in developing performance skills and stage presence. The instructor will prepare students for a dramatic or comedic production as part of the culminating showcase fostering creativity collaboration and confidence in performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Teach acting techniques character development and stage presence appropriate for middle school learners.
Direct a short play or series of skits for the culminating event.
Coach students in memorization blocking and ensemble collaboration.
Collaborate with visual arts staff to support set design props and costumes.
Manage rehearsals effectively ensuring students are prepared engaged and performance-ready.
Coordinate backstage logistics and support technical aspects of theater production.
Provide constructive feedback to help students strengthen acting skills and confidence.
Create an inclusive environment that encourages creativity self-expression and teamwork.
Collaborate with school staff and arts instructors to plan and deliver performances and events.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of acting techniques stagecraft and theater pedagogy.
Ability to direct youth productions and guide students in both ensemble and solo roles.
Strong understanding of adolescent development and creative expression.
Excellent communication rehearsal management and organizational skills.
Ability to inspire engage and support students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Knowledge of set design costuming and technical theater practices preferred.
Collaborative mindset for working across disciplines in the arts program.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in theater education drama performing arts or related field required.
Experience directing youth theater productions strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of adolescent development and creative expression.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to demonstrate acting movement and stagecraft techniques. Frequent standing movement and directing during rehearsals and performances. Ability to lift and move props set pieces and stage equipment.
