JOB SUMMARY
Lead the Supplier Quality Development process. Manage a team performing supplier development and quality activities to ensure that suppliers production and quality systems special processes products and services meet purchase contract requirements and applicable regulatory agency and government regulations.
Essential Functions:
  • Plan organize and conduct onsite audits of procured material parts and assemblies in person and utilizing Supplier Quality Engineers.
  • Assess supplier capability and capacity to perform work and comply with specifications engineering documents and other contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct root cause and corrective action analysis and implement appropriate preventative action.
  • Provide education on quality systems regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives.
  • Conduct source inspections and delegate product acceptance responsibility to suppliers.
  • Cohesive partnering / integration with the supply base key program business partners and first line leaders
  • Works with Supply Chain to ensure that internal and customer requirements are communicated to suppliers during the procurement process
  • Maintains and improves the Supplier Development and Requirements manual
  • Focus on continuous improvement the ability to recognize and implement opportunities to bring preventative best practices to the supply base
  • Development of data driven initiatives aimed at reductions of quality related disruptions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Completes risk assessments of the supply chain and implements mitigation plans
  • Develops and executes business plans policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies to improve supplier performance
  • Acquires and manages resources and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners suppliers and direct reports
  • Manages develops and motivates employees
  • Support and adhere to all company safety and environmental regulations & policies
  • Undertake other duties as determined by Leadership
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and motivate a team of Supplier Development Engineers
Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience training and/or testing)
  • At least 5 years experience managing a Supplier Quality and Development process in a defense aerospace or automotive environment
  • Knowledge and experience working with AS9100 / ISO 9001 / IATF16949 Standard.
  • At least 5 years experience applying and deploying Advanced Product Quality Planning Production Part Approval Process or the AS9145 Aerospace standard in an automotive aerospace or defense manufacturing setting.
  • At least 5 years experience utilizing Failure Mode Effects Analysis Control Plans Statistical Process Control and Measurement Systems Analysis tools.
  • At least 5 years experience performing system assessments in a defense aerospace or automotive environment.
  • Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement with proven track record of implementation
  • Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity of the US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and acquisition.
  • Must promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork across the organization and its external service providers.
  • Must be tactful diplomatic and work with integrity honesty and respect for others.
  • Shall support and encourage performance by motivating individuals and teams to achieve high performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
Education:
  • Bachelors in Engineering or Business Administration
Experience:
  • 5 or more years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • 5 or more years of leadership / supervisory / managerial experience
  • Experience of working in a multi-national multi-organizational and corporate environment
  • Experience with quality engineering and supply chain management in a highly regulated industry
  • The position requires about 50% travel to various unanticipated worksite locations throughout the U.S and internationally.
Background Prerequisites:
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check employment verification reference checks and controlled substance testing.
  • All employment at ARV is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if the position requires it.
  • This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. U.S. Person includes U.S. Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee.
