Responsible for processing accounting transactions compiling financial reports maintaining accurate records for documentation and control.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with concentration in accounting preferred.
- Proficient at Microsoft Excel and knowledge of other Microsoft Suite products.
- Familiarity with school fund accounting procedures and systems preferred.
- Familiar with General Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP)
- Broad knowledge of organization operations policies and procedures.
- Must possess a positive attitude and interpersonal skills to clearly communicate to both internal and external customers.
- High level of organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently with confidentiality trust and accuracy.
- Predictable and reliable attendance essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Grant Administration:
- Assist with grant monitoring and grant expenditure tracking.
- Process monthly IDEA reimbursements.
- Acts as reimbursement administrator for Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) subrecipients.
- Collects initial budgets and reviews for allowability within the GSRP Implementation Manual.
- Coordinates periodic budget amendments of subrecipients.
- Performs subrecipient monitoring.
- On boards new subrecipients with financial training.
- Monitors grant documents for updated guidance related to subrecipient grant administration.
- Process various monthly grant reports and invoices.
- Assist with preparing and entering indirect cost journal entries.
- Prepare monthly grant payroll history transfers.
- Prepare distribute obtain signatures for and files all semi-annual time certifications.
- At year end prepare the SEFA (Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards) to subrecipients.
- Distribute obtain signatures for and track annual federal contracts.
- Assists with the eCivis subrecipient grant portal administration.
- Assists the Grants & Systems Coordinator & Accounting Supervisor with grants as needed.
Other:
- Processes district employee reimbursements.
- Completes year end audit tasks including accounts payable due to other governments accrual reconciliations and entries and assisting with other schedules and reports.
- Provides backup for accounts payable accounting clerk and other areas as necessary.
- Performs tasks and projects as requested by Accounting Supervisor and the Director of Fiscal Services.
