Job Summary

yourtown is one of Australias pioneers in work-based social enterprises having supported over3000 young peoplewith paid work experience and training over the past 20 years. Our model pairs experienced tradespeople with youth workers to mentor young people in practical hands on roles that build entry-level skills and confidence. Our programs in NSW currently focus on gardening landscaping cleaning and general maintenance.

your opportunity

Join a values-driven organisation thats changing lives. As part of theNational Social Enterprise Leadership Team youll lead the NSW social enterprise operations managing a diverse team and delivering impactful programs that support young people into employment.

  • Full-time 38 hours/week (MondayFriday)
  • Vehicle for work use and home garaging
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture
  • This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong operational focus.

you will

  • Lead and manage the NSW Social Enterprise team of 4 direct reports and site operations
  • Build a culture ofSafety Alwaysand WHS compliance
  • Deliver high-quality services and mentoring for young people
  • Manage budgets financial and performance KPIs
  • Lead business development and customer engagement activities
  • Oversee quoting tender submissions and contract negotiations
  • Plan and manage fee-for-service and contracted works from end to end
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications permits and safety codes
  • Maintain accurate digital records and reporting systems

what we are looking for

Youre a strategic and operational leader with a trade background and a passion for empowering young people. You bring strong business acumen project delivery skills and a safety-first mindset.

you will bring

  • A relevant trade qualification (e.g. construction landscaping building asset management)
  • 7 years in leadership or management
  • Experience in quoting scheduling and winning jobs
  • Proven project management and contract delivery experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in tendering and business development
  • Ability to work with diverse groups especially young people
  • Understanding of issues facing young people
  • Exposure to employment services or community development programs and understanding of the labour market (highly regarded)
