A rapidly expanding Alternative Education Provision in Cambridge is seeking a graduate to join their team as aSEMH Teaching Assistant working with students who present with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs Autism trauma-related difficulties and behavioural challenges.
As aSEMH Teaching Assistant youll support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups of up to 4 students helping them to engage with learning and develop essential life and social skills.
SEMH Teaching Assistant - Key responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
- Supporting pupils with SEMH Autism trauma-related difficulties and behavioural issues
- Assisting teachers across a range of subjects and activities
- Promoting positive behaviour engagement and personal growth
ThisSEMH Teaching Assistantrole offers the chance to make a real difference to vulnerable secondary students while gaining invaluable school-based experience.
SEMH Teaching Assistant - Were looking for:
- A graduate with a degree from a UK University
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (voluntary or paid)
- Strong emotional intelligence resilience and adaptability
- Commitment from ASAP until July 2026
