About the workplace

This is a 12-month contract role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work in-office at least once a week.

As a Product Manager in the Lending Product team youll lead the development and delivery of product strategy to improve the member experience and support Vancity to be a financial force for change. Youll manage products from ideation and research through to development launch and beyond. Youll monitor product performance analyze data and listen to feedback to continually optimize products and the value they deliver to members and Vancity. Youll join a talented team that has both the passion for creating exceptional experiences and the technical aptitude to this role youll report into Senior Manager of Product.

A typical day would involve:

  • Building a deep understanding of our products member needs strategic goals and the market environment.
  • Leading the creation of product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Championing an insights-driven approach to understand what members value most and create solutions to achieve our goals.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the organization to evolve and prioritize roadmaps assess new opportunities and support the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Partnering with Technology teams to creatively solve problems define business requirements assess feasibility prioritize features and deliver everyday banking solutions.
  • Monitoring product performance analyzing data listening to feedback and making insights-driven decisions to optimize the experience and performance.
  • Managing product operational activities to ensure products remain compliant and competitive in market.
  • Contributing to a culture of product management excellence and customer obsession.

You have:

  • University Degree preferably in Business Finance Economics or Engineering
  • Added bonus if you have a masters degree in any of the above disciplines
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in product management in technology/finance
  • Financial Services sector experience is a must
  • Added bonus if you are a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA candidate)
  • Added bonus if you have Profit & Loss (P&L) management experience
  • Added bonus if you have data analytics financial modelling SQL Python skills

  • Youre an experienced Product Manager motivated by solving problems and creating technical solutions to make a positive impact.
  • Youve managed technical/financial products through all stages of the product development lifecycle.
  • Youre a strong problem solver whos always curious to explore and analyze feedback data and insights to uncover problems and identify opportunities to act on.
  • You build strong relationships with stakeholders. Collaboration and communication are at the core of how you operate. You can translate technical complexity to simplicity for all.
  • You work closely with technical teams to create requirements for developing and enhancing features through continuous optimization and delivery.
  • You have the planning project management and decision-making skills needed to manage a complex portfolio with a broad stakeholder group.
  • You know the banking industry and follow trends technology market threats opportunities etc.
  • You have strong knowledge of business and financial concepts with proven experience in identifying and mitigating business risks early and effectively.
  • You have a growth mindset and desire to continually learn adapt evolve and contribute to the product management practice at Vancity.

The salary range for this role is $81200 to $122000 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications skills previous experience and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program subject to program eligibility requirements.
