APM Terminals
PURPOSE OF ROLE
Business transactional data forms the backbone for critical business performance KPIs enabling detailed data analysis and driving APM Terminals leadership decisions. By leveraging this data we facilitate daily performance reviews and empower strategic transformation projects that align with APMTs ambitions.
Ensuring the quality and integrity of transactional data is a cornerstone of Data Governance. Detailing Data Business Rules ownership & proper guidelines this data becomes a reliable foundation for achieving key business goals. This role not only focuses on maintaining Transactional data quality but also enables advanced analytics to support decision-making processes across APMT Value Steam areas thereby enhancing APMT process compliance and driving value creation.
As part of the Data Governance and Insights organization this role bridges the gap between Business Process management and actionable insights supporting APMT 2030 strategy with scalable and reliable analytics capabilities. Additionally the role involves managing and tracking transactional data quality as well as collecting and maintaining data business rules.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Data Quality Monitoring & Improvement:
- Monitor transactional data quality by leveraging data profiling tools and dashboards.
- Analyse data for inconsistencies anomalies and inaccuracies and propose corrective actions.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve data quality issues in a timely manner.
- Track and report data quality metrics including data completeness accuracy timeliness and consistency.
- Design develop and implement data quality processes standards and best practices across various data sources and systems to identify resolve data issues.
Data Business Rule Collection:
- Work closely with business functions to gather document and maintain data business rules.
- Ensure alignment of data business rules with enterprise data governance standards.
- Collaborate with the Data Governance Team to validate and standardize business rules.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between the Data Governance Team and business functions to foster a data quality culture.
- Conduct workshops or meetings with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and pain points.
- Provide training and guidance to business functions on data quality best practices.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Develop and maintain documentation for data quality processes business rules and resolution actions.
- Create periodic reports on data quality performance and improvement initiatives.
Collaboration with Data Governance Team:
- Support the implementation of the Data Governance framework and standards.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance data quality and governance practices.
- Acts as Data ambassador and is accountable for Transactional Data Quality improvement
CHANGE MANAGEMENT
- Driving the change management process and responsible for planning activities and initiatives (including prioritization and decisions on what to not do)
- Identifies/evaluated and proposes Transactional Data improvements to the FPDOs and come with a clear recommendation and prioritization.
- Active participation in Data campaigns and create Transactional Data quality awareness in the Organization
CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a Data Quality Analyst or similar role with a minimum of 3-5 years in data quality management or data governance.
- Solid understanding of data management concepts including data modelling data profiling data cleansing and data integration.
- Design and Implement Data Solutions: Utilize Azure services such as Azure Data Databricks Azure Data Lake Storage Azure SQL Database to create scalable data storage solutions.
- Develop and Maintain Data Pipelines: Build robust ETL processes using Azure Data Factory integrating open-source tools like Apache Spark for data processing.
- Data Transformation: Use SQL Python and libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for data cleansing transformation and analysis to ensure high-quality data delivery.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with data analysts business stakeholders and business analysts to align on data initiatives and ensure effective data/product delivery.
- Automate Tasks and Deploy Code: Implement automation for data quality tests and deploy production-ready code using CI/CD practices.
- Nice to have - Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau or equivalent).
