About Team:

The Anatomic Pathology and Histology Laboratory offers a comprehensive range of services to support both clinical and research needs. The lab specializes in the processing staining and microscopic evaluation of tissue specimens ensuring accurate and timely pathological assessments. Core services include wet tissue processing embedding microtomy routine and special staining immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH).

Internship Assignment Summary:

Student will acquire clinical experience by working in the laboratory of a drug development company.
Support selected Anatomic Pathology and Histology (APH) operational tasks such as specimen accessioning and tracking.
Coordinate and manage Pathologists calendar including scheduling meetings training sessions and case reviews.
Act as the primary point of contact between Pathologists and internal/external stakeholders ensuring timely and clear communication.
Observe analytical testing of specimens including embedding sectioning and staining and interpret and document test results.
Participate in quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Participate in lab meetings and assist with maintaining a safe work environment.
Assist with clerical tasks as needed.
Instruction and mentorship will be provided.
At the end of training the student will deliver a presentation to demonstrate his/her understanding of the training program across various departments.

Education/Qualifications/Skills

Open to current undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Science de
gree in Biological Sciences or Biomedical Sciences.
Good organization and multitasking skills.
Able to communicate effectively with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Creative and self-motivated with a collaborative approach in a high-performance team environment.
